THERE FOR YOU UPDATE – NEXT EVENTS

Craig Pilkington has been hard at work at Audrey Studios adding instruments to the recording and mixing the track. Dr Darren Wicks added awesome keyboard licks, too. It sounds great!

Audrie Sexton has sung the main vocal for the online mp3 release, and next year we’ll release a CD including Linda Cropper (from TV’s Offspring and MTC’sThe Architect).

REHEARSAL: SUN NOV 11, 6-8PM

We will rehearse on SUNDAY 11th November, 6-8PM at the Good Shepherd Chapel, Abbotsford Convent. 1 St Heliers St, Abbotsford VIC 3067

NOTE: attendance at the rehearsal is essential for those who wish to participate on November 17th and/or 18th.

LAUNCH EVENT: SAT 17 NOV, 3-4PM

There for You Concert – Saturday 17th November – 3pm to 4pm at the Good Shepherd Chapel, Abbotsford Convent as part of the Open Spaces festival: https://abbotsfordconvent.com.au/whats-on/events-exhibitions/open-spaces-community-music
We will perform “There For You” plus we’ll learn a few easy songs in a rehearsal the week before. The program will include various guest artists and guest speakers.

If you or your ensemble wish to have a spot in the concert, please let Kathleen know ASAP (contact details below).

Attire: concert black with a splash of purple eg a purple tie, ribbon or scarf (which connects to our work with the Purple Cloak).

Note: for audience members, entrance to Abbotsford Convent for Open Spaces is $5.00. There is no additional fee for attending our concert. Performers will have a special entrance.

EXTRA PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITY: SUN 18 NOV – NIGHT OF BROKEN GLASS
The Playing Our Part choir members have been invited to participate in a special musical theatre event at Central Hall, Australian Catholic University (ACU), 20 Brunswick Street Fitzroy, on SUNDAY NOVEMBER 18th. The event is titled “Night of Broken Glass,” commemorating the 80th anniversary of Kristallnacht. We’ve been asked to supplement the opening and closing songs. There are two performances (3PM and 6PM) plus rehearsals earlier in the day. For those who have extra energy, there will also be a special late night performance that will be broadcast via an international live feed, including performances overseas.

Our participation at ACU’s event will bring more attention to Playing Our Part and the great work that has already begun, bringing new opportunities to people who are homeless.
